PROPS: Willy Wonka - Wonka Bar

“You’ve found the last golden ticket!”. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory 1971.

This movie was interesting because now a days, studios know how valuable their props/costumes are.

We see museums and backlot tours where the stuff is featured. But back then, no one knew the value of props.

For example in the Willy Wonka film, they threw out so much stuff from the movie, just so much. It’s amazing anything actually survived from it. Some actors and crew members took stuff as little mementos from there time on the movie.

The Wonka bar is an iconic piece of the history, it's one of those things where as soon as you see it, you know what movie its from. Very little real bars were made for the movie and most were produced on highly compressed card stock (measuring approximately 6 ¼ x 3 ½ with a thickness of around 1/8”.)
